AI Crocodile-Detection System
JCU × Queensland Government (DETSI)
Crocodiles are a real public-safety risk in North Queensland waterways. In a James Cook University collaboration with the Queensland Government (DETSI), I contributed computer-vision models that distinguish crocodiles from logs, debris and other floating objects.
The models were trained on thousands of hours of real-world footage and deployed on a mobile, trailer-mounted camera platform for real-time monitoring.
